You wouldn’t expect to look up from your dinner plate at the Olive Garden and see the Las Vegas Wranglers seated at the next table. But that is exactly what happened tonight in Condorstown!
I was having dinner with NL, my girlfriend ‘D’, Dirty Spanglish and Dude on the Ice and we were talking about the Condors Opening Season games this weekend when suddenly I noticed a bunch of men being seated at the table next to us. They looked like they were all in their 20’s, some of them were even HOT. And then we noticed that they were all wearing shirts that said Vegas Wranglers.

“They’re the Vegas Wranglers!” Dirty Spanglish whispered.
The Vegas Wranglers at the next table! I whipped out my camera phone.
“What are they doing here?” I asked NL.
“We’re not playing them this weekend are we?” Dirty Spanglish asked.
“No. We’re playing Stockton and Idaho.” I said.
“Maybe they’re lost.” NL said.
Just what were the Vegas Wranglers doing in Bakersfield? I wondered.
Maybe they were here to observe the Bakersfield Condors play and see how a REAL hockey team plays. Maybe the Condors were giving the Wranglers skating lessons. Maybe the food in Bakersfield is better than the all night casino buffets in Vegas. Maybe their bus broke down or maybe they were lost after all.
I’m just glad the Condors weren’t eating in the same restaurant or there might have been a rumble West Side Story style.
